NJ 13-Year-Old Charged With Sex Assault In ‘Disturbing’ Video: Police
A 13-year old was charged after police found a video posted online of him engaging in sexual conduct with a younger child, authorities said.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ - A 13-year old from New Jersey was charged last week after authorities discovered a “disturbing” video circulating among local students of him engaging in sexual conduct with a younger child.
The Egg Harbor Township teen, who was not identified, was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for creating child pornography and sharing it on the social media app Snapchat, police said.
The charges stem from “several” tips from parents to the Egg Harbor Township Police Department on Friday regarding a video containing pornographic content circulating among high school and middle school students in Egg Harbor Township, police said in a statement.

After a “brief investigation,” the teen was charged and lodged in a juvenile detention facility.
Authorities “were able to alert Snapchat to have the video removed after learning it had been created; however, we are certain that additional copies of the video were likely created and may still be circulating both online and through other social media apps and text threads,” police said. “We ask that parents report the video to Snapchat should you find it circulating at this time.”

Additional copies of the video should be deleted from devices and any cloud-based backup accounts, police said.
“As with any other incident where pornographic images of children are shared; retention of this video or images could result in charges related to the same,” police said. “We are asking for parents to have conversations with any and all children who utilize social media to be sure that they know they can bring things of a sensitive nature such as this to their attention without getting into trouble themselves."
