2 To 6 Inches Of Rain Hit Some LBI Towns Monday
It's been a dry month, but some Long Beach Island towns got drenched on Monday.
LONG BEACH ISLAND, NJ — After a dry month, Long Beach Island got some much-needed rain Monday morning, covering areas of the island with several inches of rain.
Surf City was one of the towns that got drenched. Police shared photos of flooding on Facebook. The National Weather Service said the town got 5.77 inches of rain.

Harvey Cedars similarly experienced heavy rain, with 5.57 inches, according to the Rutgers New Jersey Weather Network. Nearby West Creek got 3.83 inches of rain, according to Rutgers. Barnegat and Manahawkin got at least two inches of rain, according to the NWS.
The Monday rain caused issues for travelers in Southern Ocean County and LBI, who got caught in flash floods, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office said.
