4 Teens Charged In String Of Stafford Car Thefts

Four Atlantic City teens face charges in connection with a string of car thefts and burglaries in Stafford Township, police said.

STAFFORD, NJ — Four Atlantic City teens face charges in connection with a string of car burglaries and thefts, Stafford police said Wednesday.

The charges stem from motor vehicle thefts that occurred between July 24-28, police said.

Two teens have been charged with thefts and burglaries reported on July 24.

Henry Alvarez, 18, and a 15-year-old were both charged with a range of offenses including third degree theft, burglary, and conspiracy and criminal attempt to commit those offenses.

In connection with another incident on July 28, Alvarez and the 15-year-old, in addition to two other teens between the ages of 14 and 16 were charged with third degree theft, burglary and conspiracy and criminal attempt to commit those offenses.

A total of 91 charges were issued, according to the Stafford Township Detective Bureau.

The Barnegat Township Police Department, the Atlantic City Police Department and the Hammonton Township Police Department assisted with the investigation.

Stafford police have been urging residents to lock their vehicles in recent weeks after 25 unlocked cars were stolen in Stafford, Barnegat and Long Beach Island.
