$8.6 Million Road Resurfacing Project on Route 72 In Stafford Slated To Begin Later This Month
The project is not expected to impact Long Beach Island traffic.

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP - Get ready for an $8.6 million road resurfacing project on Route 72 that is not expected to impact traffic headed to Long Beach Island, according to a report in The Sandpaper.
The federally funded road resurfacing project involves six miles of Route 72 eastbound and westbound. It will take place in two, three-mile segments of the state highway.
The resurfacing will take place on the eastbound and westbound sections of Route 72, from Ash Road to the Garden State Parkway entrance, said DOT spokesperson Daniel Triana.

The second, three-mile section will run from Stafford Square Mall to Marsha Drive, located at the base of the bridge.
The project was originally scheduled to June 12. It will begin with shoulder work in both directions at Ash Road and move east toward the Parkway, Overnight closures won't until after Labor Day, Triana said.
