$50K-Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Manahawkin

It wasn't the $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot, but one local player won $50,000 on the latest drawing.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — While the $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot was won by a player in Arkansas, one local player is $50K richer after winning a lesser prize, NJ Lottery officials said.

The ticket sold in Manahawkin was one of eight in New Jersey that matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $50K. It was sold at the Manahawkin Walmart.

The $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot on Christmas Eve is the second highest lottery prize in U.S. history, lottery officials said. The cash value of the prize was $834.9 million.
