Manahawkin Rehab Patient Hits Nurse In Head With Juice Bottle, Police Say

A 37-year-old patient at the Manahawkin Health & Rehabilitation Center was charged with aggravated assault on a healthcare worker, cops say.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A Trenton man and patient at the Manahawkin Health & Rehabilitation Center is accused of hitting a nurse in the head with an apple juice bottle, Stafford police said.

Police went to the center at about 1:15 p.m. on Dec. 26 for the report of a disturbance, according to a news release.

The nurse sustained minor injuries from the bottle strike, police said.

The 37-year-old patient, who was not named by police, was charged with aggravated assault on a healthcare worker. He also had outstanding warrants from Freehold, Trenton and Bucks County, police said.

He was charged on a complaint summons and taken to Ocean County Jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania, police said.
