Back To School: Barnegat, Manahawkin 2021-22 School Calendar

BARNEGAT, NJ — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Barnegat and Manahawkin, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the Barnegat Township School District and Southern Regional School District.

The first day of school for students in the Barnegat Township School District is Sept. 2.

Students in the Southern Regional School District return to school Sept. 7.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. New Jersey schools are returning to full days of fully in-person instruction with no virtual option.

As of early August, both districts have made masks optional for students and staff. Like last year, these policies could change any time before the first day.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Barnegat Township School District

First Day: Sept. 2

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26

Winter Break: Dec. 24-Dec. 31

Spring Break: April 15-22

Last Day: June 17

Southern Regional School District

First Day: Sept. 7

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26

Winter Break: Dec. 24-Dec. 31

Spring Break: April 18-22

Last Day: June 14
