Barnegat Cops Charge Juvenile With Handgun Theft, Burglaries
The burglaries took place in December and January on Robin Lane and Longboat Avenue

BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP - Barnegat Detective William Hetrick recently arrested a 16-year-old juvenile in connection with several burglaries, including the theft of a handgun, Police Chief Keith Germain said.
The handgun was stolen during the course of one of the burglaries and has since been recovered, he said.
The burglaries took place during December and January on Robin Lane and Longboat Avenue. Hetrick arrested the juvenile at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 9, the chief said.

The juvenile was charged with burglary, defiant trespass, theft, and unlawful possession of a handgun. The juvenile was lodged in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center, pending a hearing, he said.
The handgun had been previously recovered in Berkeley Township, the chief said.
