Barnegat Man Charged With Child Endangerment After Son’s Death

A Barnegat man was charged with endangering the welfare of a child following the death of his six-year-old son in April, authorities said

BARNEGAT, NJ — The father of a deceased six-year-old has been charged with endangering the welfare of the child in connection with an incident that happened on March 20, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Monday.

Stafford police responded to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin after the death of a boy on April 2, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

During an investigation, detectives obtained evidence revealing that Christopher Gregor, 29, of Barnegat committed acts of abuse against the child on March 20, Billhimer said.

Gregor surrendered himself to the Barnegat Township Police Department on July 9. Gregor was processed and taken to the Ocean County Jail where he remains lodged pending a detention hearing.

Breanna Micciolo shared custody of the child with Gregor, according to Micciolo. She has spoken about the loss of her son Corey in a Facebook group called Justice For Corey.

His death is still under investigation, Billhimer said.

Billhimer acknowledged the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad, Stafford Township Police Department, Barnegat Township Police Department, Manalapan Township Police Department and the Alcoa (Tennessee) Police Department, for their cooperative efforts in connection with this investigation.
