Barnegat Woman Dies In Rear-End Crash On Atlantic City Expressway: Police

The 80-year-old woman was killed Thursday afternoon when her car stopped in the left lane and was rear-ended, police said.

PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — An 80-year-old woman from Barnegat died Thursday afternoon after her car was rear-ended on the Atlantic City Expressway, New Jersey State Police told Patch.

The woman, whose name is being withheld pending family notification, was driving her Hyundai Kona east on the highway shortly before 12 p.m. Thursday, police said.

The car came to a stop in the left lane and subsequently was struck by a Genesis GV80, police said.

As a result, the Barnegat woman was fatally injured, while the Genesis driver sustained minor injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation and no further information was immediately available.
