Candlelight Vigil In Barnegat Planned For Resident Daniel Forrest On Thursday Night

Event will be held at the Barnegat Jr. Bengals' football field on Lower Shore Road

The Barnegat Jr. Bengals will hold a candlelight vigil for Dan Forrest tonight at 8:15 p.m. on their football field on Lower Shore Road directly after practice.

Dan Forrest died in an accident on the Garden State Parkway last Friday. There will be a donation bucket at tonight's event for Dan's son Dean. The funds will be placed into a trust fund account for Dean.

"Candles will be available while supplies last, you are more than welcome to bring your own," a Barnegat Pride Facebook post states. "Those who wish to say a few words, are more than welcome to do so also."

Daniel W. Forrest of Barnegat died on Sept. 2, 2017. He was 35.

Daniel was a graduate of Southern Regional High School in Stafford Township, Class of 2000. He was currently employed by the United States Postal Service in Brick, NJ.

Daniel was a very caring and generous person, who will be remembered as a devoted father, and a great son and brother. Surviving are his beloved son, Dean Forrest; his cherished parents, Dean and Judith Forrest; his loving brother, Derek Forrest; and two loving sisters, Dawn Aversa and Diana Faccas.
A Memorial gathering will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, with a service to follow at 8 p.m. at the Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 West Bay Avenue., Barnegat. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
