Chow Down On Chowder This Weekend With LBI Cook-Off
The Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off returns Oct. 4 and 5. Check out the details:
BEACH HAVEN, NJ — Taste a variety of delicious chowders, shop local vendors and much more this weekend with the return of the Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off.
The annual event hosted by the Beach Haven Chamber of Commerce will be held Oct. 4 and 5 on Taylor Avenue behind Bay Village.
It consists of two days: Saturday is the free Merchant's Mart from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday is the cook-off from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and tickets cost $35.

Saturday features local vendors and artisans, along with alcoholic drinks, live music and kids activities. Note that while vendors may accept various forms of payment, the beverage tent will be cashless.
The classic cook-off is held Sunday; there will also be some merchants, beverages, kids activities and music.

But the crux of the event, of course, is taste-testing all of the different chowders. Prizes will be awarded for red and white chowders. Participants can vote digitally. There will be a unique ID and password printed on each wristband and you will be given a poker chip with a QR code. Scan the code, log in using the wristband information and enter your votes.
All proceeds from the event benefit local causes.
