Communities Collect Gifts For Seniors In The Barnegat Area

Community members donated gifts to over 300 local seniors through Home Instead Senior Care's "Be a Santa to a Senior" program.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Community members donated gifts for over 300 local seniors in Ocean County through Home Instead Senior Care’s “Be a Santa to a Senior” program.

Staff at Home Instead Senior Care in Waretown distributed the gifts to nursing homes and senior living communities from Lacey to Little Egg Harbor last Friday.

Local businesses and churches in the area hosted gift drop-off locations this holiday season. For the first time, people could also donate gifts through Amazon for a contactless gift-giving experience.

Students in the Barnegat Township School District, Donovan Catholic Schools and local boy and girl scout troops also pitched in to make cards and goodie bags to accompany each gift this year.
