Dog Bite Involving Child Under Investigation In Little Egg Harbor

A 7-year-old boy was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center for facial injuries from a dog bite on Tuesday, police said.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ — Little Egg Harbor police are investigating an incident involving a child who was bitten in the face by a dog.

Police responded to a home on Falcon Drive at 6:43 p.m. on Tuesday. Officers found a 7-year-old boy had a dog bite in his face and was bleeding, police said.

Officers provided immediate first aid to the child before he was taken to Southern Ocean County Medical Center in an ambulance, police said.

The boy was then transported by helicopter to the Jersey Shore Medical Center due to the extent of his facial injuries. The child is currently in stable condition, police said.

The incident is still under investigation by the Little Egg Harbor Township Police Detective Bureau.
