Flames Engulf Barnegat Home, No Injuries Reported

A Settlers Landing home in Barnegat caught fire Friday afternoon, according to Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11.

BARNEGAT, NJ—A two-alarm fire devastated a Settlers Landing home in Barnegat Friday afternoon, according to Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11. The residents and their pet evacuated without injury.

Authorities responded to the fire at 3 p.m. Assistant Chief Daniel Rooney saw heavy smoke trailing above the house and flames venting through the roof.

Involved agencies included Barnegat Police, Barnegat First Aid Squad, Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Company #1, Waretown Volunteer Fire Company, Forked River Volunteer Fire Department, Lanoka Harbor Fire Station and Surf City Volunteer Fire Company.
