FOUND!!! - Shea, The Dog Missing In Surf City For Days, Is Home Safe And Sound

Surf City police spotted the dog very early this morning and were able to corner her until her owners arrived.

SURF CITY, NJ - Shea - the dog who went missing on Friday during a walk on the boardwalk - is back home with her family, safe and sound.

Surf City police knocked on Amanda Buckle's door at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday morning and told her they were able to corner Shea behind the Verizon building. They got the dog up onto someone's deck and called Buckle and her husband.

"We sat on the ground with some treats and she slowly made her way over to us!" an ecstatic Buckle wrote on her Facebook page. "Shea appears to be in pretty good shape. The pads of her paws are beat up. We're taking her to our vet in the morning to get her fully checked out. But overall she's extremely happy!!"

Buckle thanked everyone, especially the Surf City Police Department, for keeping an eye out for Shea. One of the officers even drove them onto the beach, so they could see if she was hiding near the dunes.

Officer Rich also drove around the area for the past several nights looking for the missing pup, she said.

She's looking forward to taking down all of the "missing" signs, Buckle said.
