‘Good Morning America' To Feature LBI Theatre Wednesday

BEACH HAVEN, NJ — The Surflight Theatre and Show Place Ice Cream Parlour will be featured Wednesday during the “Rise and Shine” segment of “Good Morning America" on ABC.

Performances from the musical “Annie” and the Show Place Ice Cream Parlour are expected to air on Wednesday, July 21 between 7 and 9 a.m.

“Good Morning America” has been touring the country since May to highlight businesses and venues as the nation emerges from the pandemic.

A crew from ABC came down to Beach Haven last Saturday to interview producing artistic director Steve Steiner about the importance of theater arts education, opportunities for young people to have a return to normalcy and working opportunities for early career theatrical professionals.

The interview also touched on the theatre's contributions to the community, and how the community has supported the theatre this past year when performances were moved outside.

Recently the Surflight Theatre in Beach Haven was one of 68 nonprofits to receive a grant from the New Jersey Arts and Culture Recovery Fund (NJACRF).
