Good Samaritans Rescue Capsized Boaters Near Barnegat Inlet
Good Samaritans on jet skis helped rescue multiple people from an overturned boat Sunday afternoon.
BARNEGAT INLET, NJ — Good Samaritans assisted authorities in rescuing multiple people from an overturned boat just outside of Barnegat Inlet Sunday afternoon.
The overturned boat was reported at about 12:45 p.m. Oct. 5, according to Sea Tow Central New Jersey.
TowBoatUS Barnegat Light and Beach Haven were able to transfer the boat's passengers onto their own boat thanks to good Samaritans on jet skis.

They were then transferred to a U.S. Coast Guard boat and taken to the Coast Guard station where EMS crews were waiting. There were minor injuries, according to TowBoatUS.
Sea Tow and TowBoatUS both recovered the 24- or 25-foot vessel from the line of breakers just outside the inlet.

"This was another excellent example of multiple agencies working together," Sea Tow said.
