Here's Who Won The 2025 Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off
On a warm, sunny Sunday, hundreds descended on Beach Haven to vote for the best chowder. Here's what they said:
BEACH HAVEN, NJ — There wasn't a cloud in the sky on Sunday, when hundreds - if not thousands - descended on Long Beach Island to take part in the 2025 Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off.
The sun beating down didn't stop participants from tasting as much red and white chowder as they could handle as they enjoyed cold beer, live music and vendor tents.
Each participating restaurant had something different to offer within the red and white categories, making a delicious tasting experience for all attendees.

The cook-off is a newer version of the classic Chowderfest. The Beach Haven Chamber of Commerce, partnering with the Hunger Foundation of Southern Ocean County, took over organizing the event last year. Not only does the cook-off support local restaurants and other businesses with vendor tents, 100 percent of proceeds support local endeavors like food banks and LBI community events.

Participating in the New England clam chowder (white) category were:
- The Chicken or the Egg
- Country Kettle Chowda
- Dolce Liberta
- Element
- Isola Italian Trattoria
- Mud City Crab House
And once the votes were tallied, here's who came out on top:
- Red: Lefty's Tavern
- White: Country Kettle Chowda
