STAFFORD, NJ — Stafford police are warning of a new, "extremely addictive substance" that's being pushed in and around the Township. What happens when you ingest this substance? Well, you might end up with a full belly and a sugar coma.

"Lately, we have gotten numerous reports of an extremely addictive substance that is being pushed in and around the Township of Stafford," police shared in a light-hearted Facebook post. "This item from the outside is seemingly harmless, but only those that have suffered from this, know the true damage it can cause."

Stafford police warn of the "tricky," charming dealers of the substance, who stand outside of businesses like grocery stores to push their product.

As Girl Scout Cookie season kicks off, police are eager to help protect Stafford residents from this delicious, addictive product. Police said they have a disposal drop-off set up - coincidentally the Stafford Police Station - to get these items off the streets.

"Our officers are highly trained and prepared to dispose of these items safely and effectively. Just remember, we’re doing this for you, not us," police said.

Police added a disclaimer that they were kidding and to support local Girl Scouts as cookie season returns.

"Also, we’re just kidding about the 'Disposal Service' at STPD…Kinda," police added.
