'Ice Cream Emergency' Truck Sets Grand Opening In Manahawkin

The new ice cream truck operated by a Stafford family of first responders will be responding to ice cream emergencies at the shore.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — During the summer, a lack of ice cream can certainly be an emergency. But no worries, a new ice cream truck from a family of Stafford first responders is here to help.

"Ice Cream Emergency" is holding a grand opening on Aug. 10 at 365 E. Bay Ave. in Manahawkin. Head there from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for free ice cream and to check out the custom bus.

The new truck is operated by the Giberson family - Ali and Joe, and their three kids Maddy, Mackenzie and Henry. Joe is a full-time paramedic of more than 20 years, and he, Ali and Maddy all also volunteer with the local first aid squad.

The grand opening celebrations include first responder-related activities as well. Monetary donations will be collected for the Stafford First Aid Squad, learn how to save a life with a hands-only CPR demonstration and sign up for a blood driver appointment.
