Indoor Pickleball Club To Open Location In Manahawkin

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Pickleball players, prepare your paddles. An indoor pickleball club is expanding into the NJ/NY market, and their first location is set to open in Manahawkin.

Utah-based The Picklr, which calls itself North America’s fastest-growing indoor pickleball franchise, announced Thursday that franchisee, Arete Sports Group (ASG), has signed a lease to open a location in Manahawkin. The facility will open in the Kohl’s Plaza Shopping Center, 205 Route 72 West, where Bed Bath & Beyond most recently was.

As one of The Picklr’s largest franchisees, ASG’s Manahawkin-LBI location is the first of more than 15 clubs the franchisee plans to open within the next year in its territory, which includes parts of New Jersey and the Greater New York City area, including Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Rockland County, the company said in a news release.

According to The Picklr, the 22,500 square foot club will feature seven professional-quality courts with sound reduction baffle matrix systems, low-glare lighting, a full pro shop, café, lounge, locker rooms and more.

The Picklr offers all-inclusive memberships, with unlimited open play, league play, and tournaments, as well as four clinics and four guest passes per month for one price with nationwide access to all clubs.
