Injured Man Rescued After Boat Runs Aground Near Barnegat Light
A 62-year-old man with rib injuries was rescued by the Coast Guard on Saturday after his boat ran aground in the Barnegat Bay.
BARNEGAT LIGHT, NJ — The Coast Guard rescued a 62-year-old man with rib injuries on Saturday after his boat ran aground in the Barnegat Bay.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received the initial report through VHF Channel 16 from a grounded boater requesting medical attention, officials said.
The man suffered injuries to his ribs and arm while onboard his 33-foot pleasure craft in the Oyster Creek Channel near Barnegat Light, officials said.

A crew aboard a 29-foot response boat from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light was launched to assist and a special marine information broadcast was issued for the area.
The crew transported the man to Station Barnegat Light and EMS sent him to Jersey Shore Medical Center by helicopter for treatment.
