Little Egg Police Investigate Another Pinelands Regional Threat

19-year-old arrested on terroristic threats charges

LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ - Little Egg Harbor police have charged a 19-year-old Eagleswood man with making terroristic threats against the Pinelands Regional school district, according to the department's Facebook page.

It was the second unrelated threat the district has received in several days.

Little Egg Harbor Police received information about a possible threat to the school district through social media at 8:30 p.m on March 11. Police identified a 19-year-old subject and took him into custody later the same night, according to the post .

Police searched his residences in Eagleswood and Barnegat townships and seized several “Airsoft” and paintball guns, along with the man's electronic devices. The subject was charged with making terroristic threats, and taken for mental health screening.

Charges are still pending for the unrelated incident that occurred on Thursday, March 8.

The department will continue to investigate anyone involved in a school threat incident, Police Chief Richard Busby said.

"We would prefer to exercise our usual discretion handling issues with youthful offenders, but children are our most precious resource and their protection demands our vigilance and best efforts in these regard," the chief said.
