Long Beach Police Arrest Area Man For Harassing Beach Patrons

Shane A. Henches Of Stafford Township harassed people and refused lifeguards' orders to leave the beach, police say

LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, NJ - Long Beach Township police recently arrested a Stafford Township man for creating a disturbance on the 128th Street Beach in Beach Haven Terrace.

Shane A. Henches, Park Avenue, was also charged with resisting and hindering his own apprehension, according to the police release on the department's Facebook page.

Police responded to the beach at 4:31 p.m. on July 18, after receiving reports of a man harassing beach patrons and refusing to leave the beach after beach patrol lifeguards told him to, the report states.

Henches also had warrants from the Ocean County Sheriff's Department for non-payment of court-ordered child support. He was turned over to the sheriff's department. He has a Long Beach Township court date for the municipal charges on Aug. 13, police said.

Officers J. Hildebrant and Officer A. O’Cone along with Special Class 1 Officer L. Stambaugh assisted.
