Major Bank To Shutter Manahawkin Branch

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — TD Bank is set to close its East Bay Avenue branch in Manahawkin by the end of January 2026, according to a report.

The branch is one of three Jersey Shore branches and eight statewide that the bank will be closing, according to a report from Fast Company, an online business magazine.

While the branch at 571 E. Bay Ave., will be closing, the other Manahawkin TD Bank on Route 72 will remain open.

TD Bank, one of the country's largest financial institutions, has been shuttering dozens of branches as customers rely more and more on digital banking options. Most recently, six branches in New Jersey were closed in late spring.

As previously reported by Patch, the move to close branches also follows a fallout from agreeing to pay a $3 billion fine after the Canadian bank pleaded guilty in a money laundering scheme that delivered large amounts of money to drug activity.

TD Bank's global headquarters are in Canada; its U.S. headquarters are based in South Jersey.
