Jersey Shore Man Run Over By SUV After Falling Off Skateboard Dies, Police Say
The man had been ejected from his electric skateboard and was lying in the road before he was hit by a SUV, police said.
BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat man was struck and killed in an early morning crash, police said.
At about 1 a.m. Monday, a 41-year-old driving a 2025 Honda Pilot called police to say he struck a man lying in the roadway, according to a police news release.
The 36-year-old Barnegat man had been ejected from an electric skateboard on West Bay Avenue near Sandpiper Road before the crash, police said. He was pronounce dead at the scene, police said.

The roadway was closed for more than three hours for the investigation.
No charges have been filed, police said.

"We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the victim's family and loved ones during this difficult time," police said.
Investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Patrol Officer Julie Moore of the Barnegat Police Traffic Safety Unit.
