Man Shot Beach Haven West Neighbor's House With BB Gun: Police

A two-month investigation discovered that Mark W. Hazley had been shooting his neighbor's house with an air rifle, police said.

BEACH HAVEN WEST, NJ — A Beach Haven West man is accused of shooting his neighbor's home with a BB gun, causing significant damage, Stafford police said.

Police executed a Temporary Extreme Risk Protective Order (TERPO) and a search warrant at a Beach Haven West home on Nov. 28 following a two-month long criminal mischief investigation.

The suspect, 67-year-old Mark W. Hazley, was taken into custody at the scene. Hazley had been firing at the neighbor's windows with an air rifle, police said.

Officers seized a shotgun, an air rifle, a large quantity of ammunition and metal BB pellets, and a firearms identification card.

Hazley was charged with one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and five counts of criminal mischief.
