NJ Man 'Sucked Underwater,' Hit By Propellers After Boat Collision: State Police
Authorities said the man, who was on a small watercraft, collided with a 28-foot boat in Manahawkin Bay and was pulled underwater.
LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, NJ — State police said a man was hospitalized after being "sucked underwater" and hit by a boat's propellers in Manahawkin Bay on Saturday afternoon.
Joseph Quinn, a 59-year-old Neshanic Station resident, was on a personal watercraft and collided with a 28-foot boat around 4:30 p.m., officials said. The impact ejected Quinn into the water, where he was "sucked underwater by the other vessel’s propulsion," state police said. The propellers of the other boat then hit him.
Officials said Quinn was transported to an area hospital for further treatment, and did not provide further information as of Monday morning.
