Tuckerton Man Sent Child Porn Via Online App, Prosecutor Says

Reuben Tallman, 62, was charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

TUCKERTON, NJ — A Tuckerton man is accused of sending child pornography to other users on an online app, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Reuben Tallman, 62, is charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The investigation into Tallman was launched when the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a cyber-tip that someone was uploading images of child pornography via an internet app, Billhimer said.

The prosecutor's office found that an IP address associated with a home in Tuckerton was the one accessing and uploading the images, Billhimer said, and the individual doing so was further identified as Tallman.

Authorities including the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team and the Department of Homeland Security executed a court-authorized search warrant on Tallman's home on April 10, Billhimer said.

However, Tallman wasn't home; another occupant said he was at his workplace in Deal, Billhimer said. Tallman was searched at work and his phone was seized, Billhimer said.

It was determined that Tallman had used an app on his phone to send child pornography to others, Billhimer said.

Tallman surrendered himself to Tuckerton police on April 16, where he was served his charges and taken to Ocean County Jail. He remains there pending a detention hearing.
