Manahawkin Man Charged With Stealing Mail Out Of Mailbox

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ - Stafford police recently arrested a Manahawkin man and charged him with stealing mail out of a mailbox right across from the police department.

Steven Rowan Jr., 24, was charged on Tuesday, after police responded to the area of Indian Road, off East Bay Avenue at 11:34 a.m. on a report of the theft of mail from a mailbox, Lt. James R. Vaughn said.

"Through speaking with Mr. Rowan, the Stafford Township Police believe there may be additional victims," Vaughn said.

Rowan was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and later released pending a court date.
