McCabe Resigns Barnegat Committee Seat, Gets Township Job

McCabe will serve as labor counsel, human resources director, conflict attorney, administrator says

BARNEGAT, NJ - Local attorney Susan McCabe is no longer a Barnegat Township Committee member.

She will have a new title serving as the township's labor counsel, human resources director and conflict attorney, according to The Sandpaper.

“The township thought I’d be better working behind the scene full time than sitting up on the dais,” she said.

It will be the second time a Barnegat Committee member has stepped down and taken a township job. Current Administrator Martin Lisella resigned his committee position back in 2015to take the administrator job for $120,000.

Lisella said McCabe will be addressing issues such as labor contracts for white collar, public works and department heads in her new position.

“She will also be heading the ground-floor efforts to bring to Barnegat Township a long-standing deficit in how personnel issues – specifically as human resources director – a position designed to evaluate personnel action material; interpret applicable laws, policies, rules and regulations regarding personnel; plan and design organization structures; and provide administrative and legal advice to peers regarding personnel issues,” Lisella said in a press release.
