Multi-Vehicle Crash In Barnegat Causes 'Minor Injuries': Police

The crash occurred Sunday just after 6 p.m. near Georgetown Boulevard and Route 9, Barnegat Police Lt. Jeffrey Ryan told Patch on Wednesday.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Members of the Barnegat First Aid Squad and the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company departed the town’s Santa Run on Sunday evening to respond to a multi-vehicle crash in Barnegat.

The crash occurred just after 6 p.m. near the intersection of Georgetown Boulevard and Route 9, Barnegat Police Lt. Jeffrey Ryan told Patch on Wednesday.

A driver traveling northbound on Route 9 was turning left onto Georgetown Boulevard when they struck a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 9. Both vehicles struck a third vehicle stopped at a red light.

Following the crash, Ryan said two victims reported "minor injuries," including headache and leg pain.

After arriving to the scene, the Barnegat First Aid Squad requested a second ambulance and assistance from the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11.

When a passenger was removed from a vehicle, authorities determined they needed a Medivac. Ambulance 116 transported the victim to the landing zone at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin.

The victim was transferred to the flight crew of RWJ LifeFlight and flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune as a "precautionary measure," according to Ryan.
