New Birria Tacos Spot Opens In Manahawkin

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Get your hands on the trendy birria tacos at Manahawkin's newest Mexican eatery, Los Barbados Birria.

Los Barbados Birria, which has two existing locations in Belmar and Asbury Park, officially opened its doors to the Manahawkin community on May 12. It's located at 511 Route 72, in Driftwood Plaza.

Birria has grown in popularity over the past few years thanks to social media. For the unfamiliar, these tacos are made with marinated meat (most often beef, but traditionally goat) and dipped in cooking broth. They come with a side cup of broth for even more dipping.

Aside from the birria tacos, Los Barbados Birria also serves quesabirria (the tacos stuffed with cheese too), pizzabirria (flour tortilla with cheese, birria and guacamole, served with broth) and noodle birria (cups of ramen with birria broth).
