New Officer Joins Barnegat Police Department

Patrolman Stephen Adams was sworn in on April 1, bringing several years of police experience with him.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Barnegat's newest police officer was sworn in at the April 1 Township Committee, bringing with him several years of experience.

Patrolman Stephen Adams began his law enforcement career in 2017 as a Class II officer in Seaside Heights, Barnegat police said. Adams served the same role with the Harvey Cedars Police Department before joining the Tuckerton Police Department as a full-time patrolman in 2020.

Not only does Adams have several years of police experience, he also has a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology from Stockton University.

"Known for his dedication to both his profession and family, he brings valuable experience and commitment to our department," Barnegat police said.

Adams was officially sworn in surrounded by friends, family and fellow officers.
