New Super Wawa Proposed In Barnegat
The new Wawa, with food market and gas station, is proposed for the east side of town.

BARNEGAT, NJ — A proposed new Wawa will go before the Barnegat Planning Board later this month, according to public notice.
The Wawa would be a "Super Wawa" - that is, it will have both a food market and gas station.
Its proposed location is 547 North Main St., at the corner of Barnegat Boulevard and Route 9. That's next door to Lefty's Tavern and across the street from the existing Wawa in Pebble Beach Plaza.

Committeeman Pasquale "Pat" Pipi announced that Wawa was planning a new Super Wawa in this location more than two years ago, when he was serving as mayor, Patch reported at the time.
Now it seems that the project is finally moving forward, as developers will seek site plan approval at the Sept. 30 planning board meeting.
