Thunderstorms, Gusty Winds Expected In NJ On Friday
A weather system is on track to bring wet weather to most of New Jersey on Friday morning - and snow may be on the way.
NEW JERSEY — After a week of clear skies and sunshine, forecasters are tracking a weather system that could bring wet weather to most of New Jersey on Friday morning.
Showers and several thunderstorms are expected to arrive Friday after 1 a.m. and continue through the early afternoon, the National Weather Service said Wednesday. While the rain is poised to impact the Friday morning commute, the skies are expected to clear up by afternoon.
Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain - up to 1.5 inches in some areas - that results in localized street flooding in low-lying areas with poor drainage. Gusts bringing down brush could clog local drainage systems.
