Police Trading Card Contest Offers Barnegat Kids Prizes
Children who collect and present all of the trading cards for Barnegat police could bring home a new gaming console or iPad.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Barnegat police are encouraging local children to get to know their local officers in a unique way - the 2023 Police Officer Trading Card Contest.
The contest kicked off at National Night Out, but those who weren't present and still wish to participate can pick up a checklist at the police station lobby.
"The contest is for kids in the community to collect one, some or all of the trading cards for all of the Police Officers of the Barnegat Township Police Department," police said.

Here's how it works. Kids can approach officers on patrol around town and introduce themselves. But police ask children to remain safe - for example, wait to say hello when an officer is responding to a call, is directing traffic, or has their emergency lights turned on.
"Keep in mind that some officers are not always on patrol in the community so to collect cards for certain officers you may have to visit Police Headquarters when they are working," police said.

And no, mom and dad can't collect cards for their kids.
The first five children 17 and under to collect all of the cards and present them will win the following prize:
- First place ages 11-17: Choice of an Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 or Apple iPad 10th Generation
- First place ages 10 and under: Choice of an Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 or Apple iPad 10th Generation
- Second, third, fourth places 17 and under: Apple AirPods
Once the card collection is full, bring them to the Barnegat Township Police Department and ask to present them to an officer on duty. The officer will collect your information along with your prize choice.
The Barnegat Township Police Department thanked Barnegat Communities that Care (CTC) and the Rotary Club of Barnegat for sponsoring the trading cards as well as the Barnegat Police Benevolent Association #296 for sponsoring the contest prizes.
