Ride In Honor Of Late Manahawkin Teen This Weekend

The third annual Ride4Dylan raises scholarship money for Barnegat students in honor of the late Dylan DeStefano.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — It was in October of 2022 that 19-year-old Dylan DeStefano was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident. Since then, his family has kept his memory alive by raising scholarship money for Barnegat High School students in his name.

The third annual Ride4Dylan event, set for June 21, invites cars and motorcycles for a drive to raise funds in honor of DeStefano.

"Dylan’s life ended way too soon and he’s missed very much," his family said in a news release. "He was full of life and lived it to the fullest."

The ride starts and ends at ManaFirkin Brewing Company (450 East Bay Ave., Manahawkin). Check In starts at 10:00 a.m. with the ride starting at 11:30 a.m. Those who have not pre-registered and would like to join in the event may start arriving by 9:30. It is $30 per person to attend or participate in the ride.

To date, nine scholarships have been awarded, totaling $12,000, the DeStefano family said.

The family would like to thank all event sponsors; Platinum Level: Shore Casual Outdoor Furniture, Gold Level: CMAC, Silver Level: Tide Table & the DiAngelo Family, Bronze Level: Braised Electric, Doyles Pour House (Barnegat), IPRCM. A special thanks to Manafirkin for hosting Ride4Dylan & DJ Lit and CDB aka Chuck’d Up for the entertainment.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle, more than 30 gift basket raffles, corn hole tournament and a food truck. "Thank you to all of the families and businesses for their generous contributions," the news release said.
