UPDATE: Multiple People Injured After Vehicle Hits Calloway's Restaurant

EAGLESWOOD - Multiple people were injured when an SUV struck the side of Calloway's Restaurant & Bar Wednesday afternoon, state police Sgt. Jeff Flynn said.

The GMC Acadia was traveling south on Route 9 when it hit the side of the popular restaurant at about 3:10 p.m., according to a report on app.com.

Flynn said "multiple people" were flown by medical helicopter to the hospital following the crash.

Photographs of the accident scene show that the front end of the Acadia was crushed by the impact. Flynn said he was unable to provide additional details on the crash Wednesday evening.

State police shut down Route 9 at the accident scene for more than an hour after the crash, which caused traffic delays in the area.

Calloway's is located at 597 Main Street.

The restaurant is now open, according to an employee who answered the phone.
