New Jersey's list of the state's top 40 restaurants features a local Southern Ocean eatery.

WARETOWN, NJ — One of the best restaurants in all of New Jersey is tucked away in a Southern Ocean strip mall, according to New Jersey Monthly.

The magazine recently released their list of "The 40 Best Restaurants in New Jersey" and on the list is an eatery that quickly become a local favorite after its opening two years ago: Clemmy's in Waretown.

Clemmy's, located at 290 Route 9, is a "seasonal New American BYOB that features a rotating menu based on local availability," according to its website.

"Clemmy’s only takes reservations on certain holidays, so pack your patience along with your appetite, which will be duly rewarded with a menu that leans heavily on Viking Village seafood (scallops! tuna!) and produce and cheese from New Jersey farmers," New Jersey Monthly wrote. "Sourdough bread from Evengrow in Forked River is paired with house-made ricotta; Jersey asparagus takes center stage as a starter."

Chef Allen Walski and his wife Carolyn aim to use only the freshest local ingredients, and it pays off, as the restaurant has a 4.9 star rating on Google.

"The best dinner I have had out in years," one review reads.

"Wow when I say this place is truly spectacular I do not say it lightly," says another.

Locals and tourists alike flock to this restaurant, and often more than once, so they can explore the rotating menu.
