Southern Regional Makes Top 100 List Of NJ School Districts

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ - Data compiler Niche.com recently ranked New Jersey's best school districts for 2019. Southern Regional High School in Stafford was the only school in Central Ocean County to make the list.

Southern Regional came in at number 87 out of the 100 schools named. The only other Ocean County schools that made the list were Point Pleasant Beach at number 62 and Point Pleasant at number 90, according to Niche.

The rankings were released this week as part of the website's 2019 K-12 rankings.

To arrive at the rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data, and ratings collected from Niche users. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
Each district received a letter grade in the following categories: Academics; Diversity; Teachers; College Prep; Clubs and Activities; Health and Safety; Administration; Sports; Food; and Resources and Facilities.

The top-ranked school district in New Jersey is Millburn. Niche gave Millburn an A or an A+ in all categories except for diversity and food, each of which received a B.

With an overall Niche grade of A+, the district received a grade of A+ in academics, teachers, clubs and activities, college prep and health and safety. In the category of diversity, Niche awarded the school district a B+.
