Stafford Township Will Seal 2020 Time Capsule

Last call for time capsule submissions. Stafford officials will bury a 2020 time capsule on Tuesday in the municipal building's courtyard.

STAFFORD, NJ — Last call for time capsule submissions.

Mayor Gregory Myhre and council members will bury the township’s 2020 time capsule in the municipal building’s courtyard on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The time capsule will be opened in 50 years from now so people can learn about what life was like for Stafford residents in 2020.

The 130-pound, solid steel chest was crafted by Kurt Brownell of the Stafford Township Department of Public Works using only scrap metal.

Anyone with an object they would like the township to consider for inclusion in the time capsule should drop it off to the mayor’s office at 260 East Bay Ave in Manahawkin.

Ideal time capsule contributions should be as small as the size of a tennis ball or as thin as a photograph.
