Stafford Police Arrest Three For Using Counterfeit Bills, Drugs

All four men were charged with forgery, conspiracy and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ - Three North Jersey men have been charged with using counterfeit $100 bills at several locations in town, Lt. James R. Vaughn said.

Police received reports from The Beauty Store in Stafford Square and Dunkin Donuts on Washington Avenue at 4:30 p.m. on March 14 that three men tried to pay for purchases using the counterfeit bills. A description of the men and their 2003 black Honda Accord vehicle was obtained, he said.

Patrolman Russell Griffin stopped the car on Route 72 near Route 9. He and Patrolman Joseph Luna investigated and arrested the four occupants. Three of them were charged with forgery, conspiracy and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and a fourth is facing drug charges, Vaughn said.
