Stafford Police Arrest Two South Jersey Men For Shoplifting In Manahawkin Target

One man also facing heroin charges.

Stafford Township police apprehended two South Jersey men who were attempting to shoplift items from the Target store in Manahawkin recently, according to the police report.

One man is also facing drug charges.

Officers Michael Wade and Anthony Vincent located both men when they arrived at the store at 8:40 p.m. on May 11 on a report of two suspicious persons.

David L. Goheen, 21, Atlantic City and John A. Sauer III, 34, Brigantine were taken in custody. Goheen tried to flee the area, but was quickly apprehended along with Sauer.

Goheen was found to be in possession of heroin and a drug paraphernalia, and Sauer had an outstanding traffic warrant from the Brigantine Municipal Court.

Goheen was charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, but later released.

Sauer was also charged with shoplifting, and later turned over to the Brigantine Police Department on the warrant, police said.

Stafford Township Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit also assisted.
