Stafford Police: Dump Truck Driver Strikes Curb And Traffic Signs Before Running Off Roadway

Police believe he may have suffered a medical episode before the accident.

Stafford police haven't filed any charges against a Forked River man after his fully-loaded dump truck went off Route 72 and into a wooded area, Lt. James R. Vaughn said.

The man is believed to have suffered a medical episode when his tandem truck struck a curb and several traffic signs at the corner of Route 72 and Mill Creek Road. William Pasco Jr., 58, had only a minor injury and was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, where he was expected to be released, Vaughn said.

Pasco was heading eastbound on Route 72 at 9:09 a.m. on Wednesday when the accident occurred. The dump truck was towed from the scene. Traffic was detoured away from the scene for roughly three hours, he said.
