Stafford Steps Up To Help Hurricane Harvey Victims

Stafford police: "Now it's our turn to give back...,"

Chances are, no one who went through Superstorm Sandy has forgotten the monster storm that devastated the Jersey Shore back in October 2012.

And with that in mind, Stafford police and Stafford Teachers and Residents Together (S.T.A.R.T.) have joined together to collect very specific items that will be needed by the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

"We made it through the darkest days after Sandy with the help of others throughout the country," a post on the Stafford Township Police Department's Facebook pagestates. "Now it is our turn to give back to our neighbors, friends and family in Texas."

The list of items is very specific - hammers, construction items, mold remediation products, gift cards and other items that are needed after a devastating storm. Check out the flier above to see what is needed.

"We are ONLY collecting EXACTLY what is listed at this time to help those in need due to Hurricane Harvey," the post says. "Donating anything other than these items will only add more work for our volunteers and delay the delivery of supplies to Texas.

Once police and S.T.A.R.T. have arranged for a delivery truck, drop-off dates and times at the Bay Avenue Community Center will be announced.
