Student Athlete Celebrated By Stafford Council

STAFFORD, NJ — A star student athlete from Stafford was honored by the Township Council for her recent achievements.

Abigail Krill took second place in the 14-and-under Major League Baseball Junior Home Run Derby this past summer.

Krill, a former Junior Miss Stafford as well, hit 12 home runs during the competition at Dodger Stadium this July.

Just the week before the derby, Krill played in the USSA Great Lakes National Tournament with the NJ Gators softball team.

Mayor Greg Myhre said that Stafford believes in the importance of instilling strong values of hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship in all of their young athletes.

"We commend Miss Krill for her representation of Stafford Township with these values at the forefront," Myhre said.

Krill continues to make the community proud, he said.

"We have no doubt that this is only the start to Miss Krill's bright and successful future," Myhre said.
