Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Trent has overcome and still continues to work through several challenges. He lost his uncle in a tragic motor vehicle accident in 2020 and has recently experienced another close family loss this year. Not only has he been faced with multiple tragedies but he also has been working through the hardships that come along with having ADHD. Despite all of these circumstances, Trent has continued to shine in his academics in school. He has been elected by Waretown Elementary to participate in their Gifted & Talented program last year and again this year in first grade. Trent also participates weekly in their Gifted & Talented club after school. Trent doesn't only stand out where his academics are concerned but he is also an amazing young artist! A few years ago, his older brother and cousin created Art to sell in order to raise money for a local non profit who help to raise money for foster children and families who support them coming into care. Trent also attends martial arts class twice a week and participated in a running series every season. He is a very passionate and sensitive soul who deserves to be recognized for all his talents despite all recent and current challenges.
