1,356 Days And Still Homeless: Cat Needs Home In Somerset County
Four-year-old Joanie has been bouncing between foster homes for almost her entire life and is need of a "furever" home.
FAR HILLS, NJ — For as long as Joanie has been alive, she has bounced around from foster home to foster home, waiting the 1,356 days and wondering if she will ever find her "furever" home.
Joanie is a four-year-old medium black and white tuxedo cat who is house trained with all of her vaccinations up to date.
The all-volunteer rescue group, Lincoln Terrace Park Cats, based in Brooklyn with an additional facility in Far Hills, is hoping to help Joanie find a permanent home.

"She's lived in New Jersey, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn... and she is so ready to finally be in her forever home," said Michelle Marwitz with the rescue group.
Described as athletic, brave, curious, funny, playful, and smart, Joanie prefers a home without children or other pets.

"Joanie should be the only pet in an adult-only home. She will thrive with someone who can offer lots of play time and might literally have thick skin. (She has a bad habit of communicating her boredom and demanding entertainment via her teeth on your leg)," according to her Petfinder profile.
Her hobbies include:
- Birdwatching from the window perch
- Supervising your dishwashing
- Checking on you in the shower
- Lounging belly-up like she’s working on her tan
- Conducting full closet inspections to ensure compliance
"She needs a home that gets her. Her ideal human respects boundaries, can read her moods, and appreciates the thrill of cohabitating with a cat who might be smarter than they are," according to her Petfinder profile. "Basically, if you’re a fan of adorable gremlin energy in a fur suit, Joanie might be your soulmate."
